Default Coating to keep galvanized metal shiny?

Hi Guys,

I have a client that is using Vicwest profile 7/8" corrugated sheet metal with Z-275 galvanized coating for an indoor application. She wants the shininess and reflectivity of the new galvanized sheet to last as long as possible. Galvanized steel typically patinates to a dull greyish blue colour without any reflectivity.
I've seen this happen indoors too although at a much slower rate (reacting with humidity I guess). The application is on the wall of an office to reflect light from skylights for better illumination. In other words it won't be exposed to the weather, harsh chemicals, smoke, cooking fats, etc...

Can anybody recommend a commercially available product or home made recipe that can maintain galvanized sheets in this condition? Thanks for your help.

Danny

on stainless we use a product called shine plus.. it leaves a very light mineral oil coating on the metal.. this keeps it shiny and fingur prints wipe off real easy..

Thanks device. I'll check that product and see how it fares with galvanized.

If you use Brasso or a polishing paste like autosol on galvanized steel using a polishing mop it makes the spangles look smaller and more lustrous and has a finer finish then a coating of a light oil ,even vegetable oil will do it gives it a slightly blue aluminium lustre.
