OK, I bit the bullet and purchased the Triton Steel Cutter after much searching to find a source, finally found it at for a reasonable price. It arrived two days ago. Set up was easy out of the box, good instructions. Saw seems well built although the blade guard is plastic. It seems to work great. Cuts through steel rod unbelievably fast and smooth. No burs, cool to the touch. I will see how it holds up over time and keep you posted. One interesting feature of this saw is that the blade is never exposed until the head is lowered and in cutting position.
