Default Jobbers?

Can someone explain to me what a job tinner is (or I guess was). I've also come across the term jobbing shop and don't know what that is, either. Thanks so much for any and all info

Around here the term 'jobber' means piece worker, or someone who installs or fabricates at a set rate.
For instance, I have a set rate for some contractors for a simple furnace changeover.
