Red face Help this Newbie in the Field Please

I want to have a better understanding in the sheet metal work. I came into the trade without any experience, actually I don't even know that sheet metal exit until I was introduce to. I am going into my 2nd year apprentice and notice that I didn't get enough experience from the field. I notice that I have a little hard time understanding offset (45 degree, 90 degree) (spiral and square fitting). I want to join the TheSheetMetalShop forums because I was wondering if someone is patience enough to teach me a easier way. A lot of the duct work that we are hanging is expose so I am nervous of my math to get the right fitting. Thank you.
