Default Pexto model 299 circa 1982

Well folks I just ran the gauntlet and won this nice circle shear for a "you suck" price. Will be making the 8 hr. round trip to pickup on Saturday and will keep you posted. Its in or near Tuscaloosa Ala. I cant put pics from the auction site.

Default Circle shear

I picked this up over the weekend, near the crimson tide's territory. It came out of the university as it was never used. I was just gonna clean it up, but you know me. I went ahead and wire wheeled it and applied some paint. Sunday evening I had it back together and cutting circle's, even the stand is heavy duty retrofitted for the unit I think, as it is too short. I paid 355 for it and 100$ for fuel, and an 8 hr. rd trip. Couldn't be anymore happier with the purchase and now I need to find a deal on a foot shear and will be done acquiring machinery, except for my wood shop, but that's another page in my life though. Remember to only fool with American made machinery.

I tell you this is a relatively new model, the left side is all plate weldment, and the end that does the work is cast. Those two large gears are aluminum and there's a nail stuck in the casting and what appears to be a nail hole beneath the nail where it slid out, like it was being held by the nail as the cast iron cooled in the foundry, Kinda weird you know. The older models appear to be all cast with more attention to detail, they went on a cost cutting spree around 1980 ish. and I see I'm missing a gauge according to other models I've seen.

VERY nice purchase ....you will smile everytime you use it. As you say...looks to be in very nice shape....and you are right...you stole it for that price....but you earned it by driving that far
