Default gutter and downspouts

Hello, I have to build a bunch of gutters and downspouts for a home I am working on. They need to be rusted so I was thinking 18 guage in cold rolled. They are going to be in Idaho, dry climate, with a rusted core ten roof. I don't know what to make the downspouts out of. My steel supplier doesn't have a thin wall round tube. Thanks, Chuck

O'neel Steel has 16 & 18 ga cold rolled tubing round & square. They have a MetalWest location in Boise. You can also check their stock book online. I would also like to see a finished pic. Sounds interesting.

I am sure that this project has been finished by now due to its date of last post, however, I would just make the gutter and the downspouts out of the corten steel, that way everything would have the same look, the corten steel gets surface rusting but wont rust thru. You can get flat sheet from various metal suppliers, I know Metal Sales carries it, maybe Unaclad.

Default Old post

18 ga would be a very stout gutter for commercial much less for residential, bet it didn't happen.
