Default Sheet metal for carryall

I was thinking about buying a carry-all for my tractor.

Some people build a wood platform; however, I was thinking about putting a sheet of metal on the bottom, perhaps wood on the sides. I figured I could bolt on when needed and remove to carry pallets, etc. I thought metal may even allow some scooping ability (lighter items light wood chips). I really do not know much about what type of metal to use (do not want to rust) and how heavy. Would it be wise to put a support bar across under part of the sheet as well or perhaps a sheet of wood underneath supporting? Where to buy and if some will cut it to size. What is the best way to get the holes in the metal to attach to carry-all? Is a drill press needed and how heavy-duty? I only have drills, not a drill press, any recommendations if that will not do?
Appreciate your thoughts on whether this is a good idea or any other suggestions or help. Thanks.
