Default Aluminum vs. Galvanized?

My son is the leader of my grandson's scout troop and I'm going to make them a reflector oven or two. I'm thinking I should probably use aluminum to eliminate any concerns about cooking on or near galvanized. What would be equivalent to 26 or 28 ga. as far as cutting and braking? I know some aluminum is harder to work with, but have never really used anything other than flashing. Thank you. John

I would use regular tin plated steel sheet. I get mine from Paul Barnhart. 10x14 sheets.

That's probably what I'll use. I bought several sheets from him a few years ago. John
