I actually forgot I signed up last September until I rediscovered the site today... I found it using a simple Yahoo search. I've been doing sheet metal work since 2000, so seven years now. I do commercial installation and fabrication. Have also done estimating and project management.

I am currently looking for a job in the Milwaukee area as I am unemployed

Do you have any leads or know of any shops that might be hiring? I have a full resume I can send out upon request. I'm afraid it could be one of those years where I'm off more than I work . I was off Jan-Feb, then worked Mar-early June. Then was off work a week. Then a contractor hired me for 8 days... now I've been off since June 27th. Need to get some hours in before winter in case I'm off again. Ugh. Thing is, I have good work ethic and know how to do a lot of stuff. Just can't seem to get in the door at the right time.

Do you do any service work? Most shops I think are looking for a little of both..

City of Milwaukee is hiring for Steamfitter / HVAC Specialist (Milwaukee Journal Listing)

Lead residential & light commercial installer? They may want service exp. I'm not sure
Fax your resume to 414-304-1730 (Milwaukee Journal Listing)

Look on www.HeatingGuide.com/directory - type in your zip code and the radius you wish to travel and cold call some of these folks. Many don't advertise their employment opportunities

Thanks for the info. I am union with Local #18, so I don't think the city of Milwaukee is signed up with them? As for service work, I've done all install work my career. I've had one service class with my apprenticeship, and thats it.

City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County employ Local #18 Sheet Metal Workers. You need to test with them and they have their own contract but once your in it is a pretty good gig from what I hear.
