I have the opportunity to replace the flex duct in the attic for a good customer/friend. (lucky me!). I going to need to get a tensioning tool and have been debating between the plain tensioning tool and the combo knife, wire cutter and tensioner. Any suggestions? I don't run much flex, but there's a good possibility this job may bring more in this subdivision from the original ducts have suffered age, cable guys, etc! Thanks for any advice, John

If I had a combo tool that included a blade I'd probably hurt myself real bad while trying to balance on joists! I've always used the plain tensioner---the other type just seems like it would be awkward to use.

Bill,
That's what I thought too! Some combo tools are more trouble than their worth. John
